Former NFL wide receiver Hank Baskett and his wife, Kendra Wilkinson, are opening up about how they got through a rough patch. Two years ago, reports claimed Hank had been unfaithful. Kendra has said the ordeal left her humiliated, yet the couple stayed together.
On Tuesday’s episode of Steve Harvey, the pair said intense therapy, forgiveness and learning to communicate were the keys to their reconciliation. Kendra also shared that Hank gave her the freedom to feel “mentally single.”
She explained that at one point she had divorce on her mind and began to like the feeling of being single. When they started working things out, she said she loved him but was not sure what she wanted. According to Kendra, Hank let her explore those feelings mentally, but not physically.
Kendra said she was open with Hank about the attention she got, including a text from someone from her past. She stressed that nothing ever crossed the line physically and described it as “mental chaos.”
Hank said he put her through the worst moment of her life and that he told her to figure out who she is without crossing the line. He said he would rather she be honest about it than sneak around and hide things.
The couple says the honesty is what ultimately brought them closer. Every relationship is different, and this one clearly works for them.
