Hank Baskett’s camp is pushing back. TMZ reported on October 25, 2014 that the former NFL player’s lawyer went to the FBI, claiming a woman named Ava secretly recorded a conversation with him and tried to get $5,000 in exchange for her silence.

Ava has said publicly that she had a relationship with Hank, who is married to Kendra Wilkinson. According to TMZ, Hank’s people now acknowledge he “hung out with her.” They say Ava recorded a conversation in which Hank asked her not to talk about their relationship because he is married, and that the audio made its way to other media outlets.

TMZ also reported Hank’s version of how they met. His side says he ran into Ava and a friend at a grocery store and went to their apartment. His lawyer, Lee Hutton, reportedly plans to go to court next week to seek her records, which Hank’s people believe will document an extortion attempt.

Ava had not responded to the extortion claim at the time of this post, and no charges had been reported. For now, this is Hank’s side of the story as relayed to TMZ.
