A Hawaii man charged with murder has reportedly told authorities that Jay Z and the Illuminati were behind what happened to him, according to People.
Jason, 39, is accused of killing his landlord, James, in 2012. He has not been convicted, and a judge has not yet ruled on whether he is fit to stand trial. According to People, three examiners have evaluated him and they did not agree. One psychologist testified that Jason is unfit for trial and suffers from persecutory delusional disorder. A second examiner, the state’s designated evaluator, testified that Jason is fit for trial. A third, a psychiatrist, said he believes Jason is fit and that a video of Jason from before the incident simply showed a man who appeared to be high on drugs.
Examiners reviewed that video as part of their evaluation. In it, Jason reportedly complained of stomach pains he blamed on being possessed, talked about the Illuminati and called himself the son of man.
A psychiatrist who treats Jason at the state hospital also testified, according to People. He said Jason is very coherent and knows what he is doing, and claimed Jason would act delusional to try to get strong painkillers. Jason reportedly passed one fitness exam and failed another. The prosecutor did not immediately respond to People’s request for comment.
A judge is scheduled to rule on Jason’s fitness for trial on November 24. Jay Z has not been accused of any wrongdoing, and the claims in this case come only from the defendant.
