HBO Greenlights ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show’ Produced By Robin Thede And Issa Rae

HBO is blessing us all with a half-hour sketch comedy show starring and executive produced by #RobinThede, along with partnering executive director, Issa Rae. Talk about a dynamic duo!

‘A Black Lady Sketch Show,’ which was created and written by Thede, will feature narrative sketches performed by a core black female cast along with special celebrity guests.

Issa Rae is set to executive produce, alongside Thede, via her Issa Rae Productions, as it falls under Rae’s overall deal with HBO.

According to Deadline, others involved in the project include Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry, for 3 Arts Entertainment, as well as Tony Hernandez and Brooke Posch for JAX Media. Denise Davis and Montrel McKay produce for Issa Rae Productions, and John Skidmore produces for JAX Media.

The show is still in the very early development stages, so there’s no release date set as of yet, but fans will be anticipating, nevertheless.

Congratulations to Issa Rae and Robin Thede!
