Jay-Z Is Officially Headlining Super Bowl 2027 Halftime Show, But Will Beyoncé Join Him?

Beyoncé’s recent performances with Jay-Z, a Destiny’s Child reunion at SoFi Stadium, and appearances from former Roc-A-Fella artists are raising questions about who could join him on music’s biggest stage.

Jay-Z Is Officially Headlining Super Bowl 2027 Halftime Show, But Will Beyoncé Join Him?

Jay-Z is officially headlining the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, but could Beyoncé be joining her husband for the performance? With the game scheduled for Valentine’s Day and the couple recently sharing the stage again, there are already some interesting clues about what could happen.

According to the NFL’s official announcement, Jay-Z will headline Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The news was revealed Monday, October 26, during ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast featuring the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles.

Roc Nation also shared a promotional video featuring the rapper sitting inside a stadium, captioning the announcement, “GOAT’s out of the bag.”

“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”

Although no special guests have been announced, Beyoncé is an obvious possibility, especially considering their recent performances together.

In July, Beyoncé surprised audiences during Jay-Z’s anniversary concerts at Yankee Stadium. She opened his July 10 show with “Can’t Knock the Hustle” and returned during the July 12 finale to perform “Drunk in Love.”

Their joint appearances are particularly interesting because Jay-Z also joined Beyoncé during her 2025 Cowboy Carter Tour, including a performance of “Crazy in Love” in Atlanta. The couple previously headlined their On the Run tours in 2014 and 2018.

Another possible clue emerged just days before Jay-Z’s Super Bowl announcement.

During his October 23 concert at SoFi Stadium, Beyoncé was spotted enjoying the show alongside former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

The three women watched and danced together from a suite while Jay-Z performed. Their appearance came as the rapper brought his daughter Blue Ivy Carter onstage to play piano during “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents.”

The timing and location are interesting. Beyoncé was supporting Jay-Z at the same stadium where he will headline the Super Bowl less than four months later.

Beyoncé also has plenty of halftime experience. She headlined the 2013 Super Bowl, reuniting Destiny’s Child during the performance, and returned in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars. She later delivered her own Christmas Day NFL halftime spectacular in 2024, commonly known as the Beyoncé Bowl.

A 2027 appearance could feature anything from “Crazy in Love” and “Drunk in Love” to their classic collaboration “’03 Bonnie & Clyde.” However, Beyoncé has not publicly confirmed any involvement.

And she is not the only superstar with strong ties to Jay-Z who could make an appearance.

Rihanna is another compelling possibility. The singer, whose career has longstanding connections to Jay-Z and Roc Nation, recently returned to the stage during his July 12 Yankee Stadium concert.

Rihanna joined him for “Run This Town” before performing “Bitch Better Have My Money.” She was also spotted attending his October 23 concert in Los Angeles.

Rihanna previously headlined the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, so another appearance would bring two former halftime headliners into Jay-Z’s performance if Beyoncé also participated.

For longtime Roc-A-Fella supporters, a reunion featuring Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, or Young Gunz would offer another direction.

Jay-Z has already demonstrated his willingness to bring his former label family together. During his June 2026 Roots Picnic performance in Philadelphia, he reunited with several artists from the Roc-A-Fella era.

His anniversary concerts showcased appearances by Freeway, Beanie Sigel, and Peedi Crakk in Philadelphia. Memphis Bleek also joined Jay-Z during his Yankee Stadium shows, performing their longtime collaboration “Coming of Age.”

A Super Bowl reunion could give the former Roc artists a chance to revisit the records that helped define Jay-Z’s early career.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is another former Roc-A-Fella artist whose extensive history with Jay-Z includes “The Blueprint” and their joint album “Watch the Throne.” However, there has been no announcement suggesting that a reunion is planned.

Other possibilities include Alicia Keys for “Empire State of Mind,” Pharrell Williams for “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me),” and Eminem for “Renegade.” All three reunited with Jay-Z during his 2026 anniversary concerts.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg could also return to SoFi Stadium. The two joined Jay-Z during his October 24 concert, according to the NFL, after previously performing at the venue during the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show.

Jay-Z’s decision to perform also marks a shift from his years working behind the scenes. Since Roc Nation partnered with the NFL in 2019, he has helped shape the halftime show’s musical direction.

In a 2025 interview with Variety, halftime producer Jesse Collins explained his influence.

“It’s a decision that Jay makes,” he said. “Since we’ve been on board with that show, he’s made it every year, and it’s been amazing. He’s always picked right.”

The announcement follows Jay-Z’s celebration of the 30th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt” and the 25th anniversary of “The Blueprint,” alongside his HBO docuseries “JAŸ-Z in 8.”

Speaking with PEOPLE, Jay-Z described “The Blueprint” as a “staple.”

“It was one of those moments where, Reasonable Doubt, I didn’t know the music business. So I didn’t have aspirations of any goals. I was just making music to make music. And then, [In My Lifetime,] Vol. 1, I was trying. Then Vol. 2, I figured out songwriting.”

“The Blueprint was like that moment where I was like, ‘Aw, I’m here. I’ve arrived, and I’m here to stay,’” Jay-Z added.

With three decades of music to choose from, Jay-Z has enough material to headline the show alone. His recent concerts, however, have demonstrated how many major artists remain connected to his musical legacy.

For now, neither Beyoncé, Rihanna, nor any former Roc-A-Fella artist has been confirmed for the February 14 performance.
