Russell “Hollywood” Simpson, the former assistant to NFL free agent Kerry Rhodes, shared more text messages with Baller Alert today that he says are between him and Rhodes. Baller Alert was the first outlet to report Hollywood’s account of a relationship with Rhodes, and we have followed the story since it broke in April.
Hollywood claims that he and Rhodes were in a relationship. Rhodes has publicly denied that. He told TMZ in April, “I am not gay,” and said the vacation photos that started the story were taken with his business team. His camp has also disputed Hollywood’s account. Rhodes has not commented on Hollywood in recent weeks. A report said he plans to marry this summer, but that has not been confirmed. Baller Alert has not independently verified the messages.
Hollywood told Baller Alert that he could not keep the relationship hidden and that he is hurt by how things ended. He also shared photos he says were taken in the same hotel room that appears in the teaser for his reality show. Rhodes has not responded to the new messages or photos.
