President Joe Biden Moves to Pardon Son Hunter Biden Just Days Ahead of Sentencing

Hunter Biden has agreed to plead guilty to several major charges, including tax evasion and gun possession.

President Biden’s son, who has been known for his outrageous behavior, will acknowledge that his documented drug use was a factor in why he illegally owned a gun. As part of his deal, Hunter must accept a pretrial diversion agreement. The plea stems from Hunter being charged with failing to pay taxes in 2017 and 2018. Authorities allege Hunter brought in over $1.5 million in income in both years yet dodged the IRS. He has since repaid the federal government with multiple penalties and fines related to his debt. The gun charge is from a 2018 incident where he was caught with a Colt Cobra 38SPL.

Hunter’s attorney, Chris Clark, confirmed the plea agreement to CBS News. He told the publication that the first son is prepared to take accountability for his actions and move on from his legal issues.

“I know Hunter believes it is important to take responsibility for these mistakes he made during a period of turmoil and addiction in his life. He looks forward to continuing his recovery and moving forward,” Clark stated.

Hunter has been open about his use of crack cocaine in the past and has endured countless visits to rehab centers, to no avail. Videos have surfaced of him on costly drug benders, some of which he filmed himself. His troubles have long been a source of ammunition for Republicans and Biden critics.

Though Hunter has agreed to the deal, a federal judge must also sign off on it. As long as Hunter remains clean and out of trouble for the next two years, the gun charge will be dismissed. The 53-year-old is expected to formally enter his plea during a forthcoming hearing in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, Delaware. That court date has not yet been set.
