Details from Hunter Biden’s divorce are now public, and both sides are making claims in court documents. This follows reports this week that Hunter is dating Hallie, the widow of his late brother Beau.
According to court documents reported by outlets including the New York Post, Hunter’s estranged wife, Kathleen, alleges that during the marriage he spent money on drugs, alcohol, strip clubs and gifts for women he had a relationship with. She claims this caused financial strain for the family. These are allegations in a filing. Hunter had not been shown to have admitted them.
Hunter has now filed his own court papers. In them he asks Kathleen to turn over evidence of any romantic or sexual relationship she may have had outside the marriage, including letters, cards, notes and emails. That is a request for information, not a finding that anything happened, and Kathleen has not been reported to have responded to it.
He is also asking the court to end the $20,000 monthly allowance Kathleen has been receiving. His filing argues that she is college educated, does substantial volunteer work and is capable of working and supporting herself.
The couple were married for about two decades. Divorce filings are one sided by nature, so we will see how both parties respond as the case moves forward.
