Lee D’Avanzo, the husband of “Mob Wives” star Drita D’Avanzo, has been charged in a New Jersey investigation into THC edibles, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutors announced on Tuesday that the year long investigation, called “Operation on the Ropes,” ended with 24 arrests. Investigators say the group sprayed store bought candy with concentrated THC distillate, repackaged it, and sold it across New Jersey. Lee, 52, was charged with fourth degree conspiracy to possess marijuana and fourth degree possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana. Prosecutors have not said what role he allegedly played.
Monmouth County Chief of Detectives John G. McCabe warned parents that the packaging looks so much like regular candy that “your kids may be getting high right before your eyes.”
The charges come weeks after a December 20 police search of his home. According to the criminal complaint, authorities say they found firearms, prescription pills, scales, packaging materials, and marijuana. He was charged in that case with drug and weapons offenses, along with endangering the welfare of a child because a child lives in the home.
All of these charges are allegations, and he has not been convicted of anything. Baller Alert has not seen a public response from Lee or from Drita.
