Jason Elia, a television writer in Nashville, says he bought Super Bowl tickets for himself and his girlfriend and was even planning to propose to her at Christmas. Then he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and he says she broke up with him.
That’s not even the wildest part. According to Jason, she still wanted the Super Bowl tickets, because she said they were bought with her in mind.
Jason had other plans. Instead of handing them over, he’s giving the tickets away on Twitter. Whoever sends him the most new followers by the end of the Pro Bowl gets the tickets, and the internet has been more than happy to help.
People love to call women gold diggers, but walking away from someone when they get sick and still asking for the tickets is a whole different level. We hope Jason beats this, and we hope whoever wins those tickets enjoys every minute of the game.
