Ice Cube’s BIG3 Sued For $250M For Stealing Players

Ice Cube and his basketball league, the Big3, have been hit with a $250 million lawsuit by the Champion Basketball League (CBL) for stealing players.

The New York Daily News reports the lawsuit was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court on Friday, by CBL founder Carl George. George alleges Ice Cube and his co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz, originally wanted to work together with him to create something that could one day rival the NBA, but the Big3 swept the rug from right under them.

George goes on to say that the CBL scrapped the idea to have  “at least 20 players” not sign an exclusive contract with them so they could compete in the Big3. However, Ice Cube and his partner did.

“When certain players expressed their desire to participate in the CBL games, Mr. Cube confronted the players personally about playing in the CBL and threatened the players that they would be fined, not allowed to participate in the 52% of revenues bonus pool, or  be replaced on their teams. These threats were also shared with the CBL,” the suit alleges.

Ice Cube’s reps and attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
