Ice T’s grandson, Elyjah, was arrested in Georgia after a roommate was fatally shot at their Marietta apartment, according to reports from TMZ and other outlets in late June 2014.
Reports say Elyjah, 19, was handling a handgun on Tuesday, June 24, when it went off and killed his 19 year old roommate, Daryus. The shooting has been described in reports as accidental.
Elyjah was charged with involuntary manslaughter, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless conduct, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was reportedly being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $38,720 bail.
Ice T had not publicly commented on the arrest at the time these reports were published. Charges are only accusations, and Elyjah had not been convicted of anything.
