A woman in Florida has been arrested for allegedly scamming the federal government and using her COVID-19 pandemic relief funds to front on Instagram.

According to The Independent, a woman named Danielle Miller of Miami, Florida, fraudulently used the personal information of a Massachusetts resident to secure a pandemic-related federal loan.

Miller then used the proceeds to fund a lavish lifestyle which included private flights to California and stays at luxury hotels which she showed off on social media.

According to the US attorney’s office for the District of Massachusetts, she faces charges of wire fraud.

Authorities allege that Miller accessed the online Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) account of a Massachusetts resident and then used that victim’s personal information to open a bank account and then applied for a federally-funded Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) through the Small Business Administration.

Prosecutors said Miller received more than $102,000 from the SBA loan in August of 2020 and used the funds for designer clothes and handbags, lavish trips, private flights, and lots of content for her @killadmilla Instagram account, which has more than 30,000 followers.

Prosecutors also alleged that she also applied for up to $900,000 in other fraudulent SBA loans using stolen RMV accounts and used the same IP address as the original loan.

If convicted, Miller faces 20 years in prison, up to three years supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
