Jeffery Dahmer’s father, Lionel Dahmer, is planning to sue Netflix for unauthorized usage of his son’s storyline.
According to The Sun, the 86-year-old is upset that the streaming app never contacted him about the popular series “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.”
Lionel also claims Netflix never got permission to use tape recordings in another docuseries that was released earlier this month.
Both series have ignited a new fascination of the Milwaukee cannibal. Jeffrey’s popularity has increased so much that he is now considered a Halloween costume.
However, the love for Jeffery have reportedly left Lionel a “nervous wreck” as fans have began to pop up on his property.
Lionel’s assistant, Jeb, says “from everything that I’ve seen and witnessed personally, Lionel was not contacted about either of these shows on Netflix.”
He continues, “I’ve personally talked to a few lawyers and we’ve talked to his publisher about it too due to all the chaos that is going on and the stories we’ve seen. Lionel and his power of attorney are gathering information and looking at a possible lawsuit against the production team or possibly Netflix.”
In addition, Jeb adds that Lionel doesn’t feel like he was portrayed correctly in the series.
“Lionel was a very caring father. He was just trying to do his best in a time of uncertainty,” he said. “He thinks that none of this should have been made, all the information that needs to be public is right there in his book. Everything else is just glamorized and provides attention to details that aren’t proven fact.”
