Actress Issa Rae is among the top donors of a GoFundMe created by the family of one of the victims of the fiery LA car crash that took the lives of six people.
The younger sister of 23-year-old Asherey Ryan created a GoFundMe to raise funds to help cover funeral expenses. Rae, full name Jo-Issa Diop, made a $2,500 donation. The online fundraiser had exceeded its $100,000 goal as of Saturday night.
Issa Rae was raised about ten minutes from the crash site in Inglewood.
Ryan was among the victims who lost their lives when 37-year-old Nicole Lorraine Linton blew through a red light at an estimated speed of 100 mph, crashing into multiple vehicles. The fiery crash also killed Ryan’s fiancee, infant son, and unborn child.
On Monday, Linton, a traveling nurse from Houston, was charged with six counts of murder and five counts of gross vehicular manslaughter. So far, she has not entered a plea and her next court date is August 15.
