The Los Angeles Police Department has identified 35-year-old Ivanna Ortiz as the woman arrested after gunfire struck the Beverly Hills area home of music star Rihanna. Authorities booked Ortiz on suspicion of attempted murder and set her bail at $10.225 million, according to police records.
Officers were dispatched to the Beverly Crest neighborhood around 1:15 p.m. Sunday after multiple calls reported gunshots near the residence. Investigators say the suspect parked outside the property and fired seven rounds toward the home before leaving the scene in her vehicle.
Police later located the car roughly eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center. Officers detained Ortiz shortly after finding the vehicle connected to the case.
Detectives recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting during the investigation. Authorities also reported finding seven assault rifle shell casings outside the residence while processing the scene.
No injuries were reported, and investigators have not confirmed whether anyone was inside the home at the time of the gunfire. Television aerial footage later showed several bullet holes in the property’s front gate.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, rose to global fame in the early 2000s with hit records including Pon de Replay and Umbrella. She later built a major business portfolio through her Fenty brand, which includes cosmetics, fashion, and lingerie companies.
The singer has been in a relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky since 2020. The couple shares three children together.
The investigation remains active, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
