Coi Leray is finally explaining the part of her history with Latto that played out away from cameras. During a September 16, 2026 appearance on “The Jason Lee Show,” Leray revealed that the tension surrounding Latto’s “Put It on da Floor” eventually led to a physical confrontation between her and Latto’s younger sister, Brooklyn Nikole. Leray described it as “a whole fist fight” and said she reinjured her knee during the altercation. She told Jason Lee that Brooklyn was defending her sister, while she believed she was defending herself after Latto delivered a bar Leray felt had “crossed the line.”

The revelation fills in a major blank in the Coi Leray feud with Latto, which became public in April 2023. Leray’s account is her version of what happened behind the scenes. Leray said the women approached one another and that Brooklyn attempted to swing before security intervened. Leray said the confrontation remained on their feet and never went to the ground. She did not publicly provide a specific date or location for the fight.The tension started with one line. Latto released “Put It on da Floor” in April 2023 after previewing the song during Coachella. On the record, she rapped, “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.” Leray interpreted the comparison as commentary about her body and immediately pushed back on social media. She told Latto not to talk about her body and questioned why she had been brought into the record at all.
Leray softened her response soon afterward, but she did not completely abandon her point. She acknowledged that she may have overreacted while maintaining that artists she did not communicate with should not use her name for attention. From there, Leray repeatedly explained that the issue was not simply whether Latto intended an insult. She was uncomfortable with being referenced on a record she understood to be confrontational.
