People have fallen asleep in some strange places, but Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson, who woke up in a pond last weekend, might take the cake on this one.
Robinson woke up early Sunday morning to police officers tapping on his car window. His friend, who was also in the car, rolled down the window and she responded “What’s up?”, while Robinson quickly fell back asleep. The officers then told them both that their car was halfway submerged into a pond and they had to get out because the car was sinking. It took some time for the two of them to get out, however, as both of them were very tired and couldn’t process what was going on.
Once they were safely out of the vehicle, Robinson, who was driving the car, was tested by the officers for traces of drugs or alcohol in his system. In the end, it turned out just to be a case of extreme fatigue.
Robinson later addressed the incident on social media, saying “I should not have been driving that late or when I was that tired, but again, I’m just glad that everyone was safe. God Bless”.
