Tim Tebow could make his return to the NFL this year. The Jacksonville Jaguars reportedly plans to sign the quarterback turned tight end to a one-year deal.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted the news on Monday, saying, “The #Jaguars are planning to sign QB-turned-TE Tim Tebow to a 1-year deal, per me and @TomPelissero, a deal that could be official in the next week or so. Nothing done yet.”

The former quarterback worked out with the Jaguars sometime in the last month, according to TMZ.

Tebow was a first-round draft pick for the Denver Broncos in 2010. He was then traded to the Jets and cut the following year. He signed with New England, where he was released after training camp.

He last played football in 2015 when he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was released in the final cuts after playing four preseason games with the team.

After leaving the NFL, Tebow focused on baseball. He spent time in the Mets organization on their minor league teams. He announced his retirement from baseball in February, according to ESPN.
