Jameis Winston is officially in the NFL and is not letting his rape accuser make any more grabs for his cash. It’s being reported that weeks after ex-FSU student Erica Kinsman filed a lawsuit against him, Winston has filed a countersuit.
Jameis’ lawsuit claims Erica Kinsman lied repeatedly, tarnished his image and when she demanded $7 million to drop her case, proved she is money hungry. “She has mounted a false and vicious media campaign to vilify Mr. Winston with the objective of getting him to pay her to go away,” states Jameis Winston’s lawsuit. “Ms. Kinsman is motivated by the most insidious objectives — greed.”
Back in 2013 Kinsman accused Winston of drugging and raping her. Police say they had no probable cause to arrest Winston and he was never charged. In Jameis countersuit he knocks down several of Kinsman’s claims. He says that at no time did he drug her, and at no point during their sexual encounter did Kinsman object. He also said that Kinsman promised if he paid her $7 million, he would never hear from her again.
John Clune, Kinsman’s lawyer, responded by saying Winston’s “counterclaims put all of his prior misconduct and background front and center in the case by alleging injury to his ‘good reputation. The burden of proof is now on him. Refusing to answer questions and smearing people in the media aren’t going to fly here. I’m not sure how well that will end up for him in this case.”
Jameis Winston has been drafted. The one thing he’s been working for is out the way. He’s also got access to more money. Kinsman is going to have to prove her case harder than ever now.
