Jason Lee Calls Out Kim Kardashian’s Friend Jonathan “FoodGod” Cheban For Befriending Him In Private to Avoid Backlash From the Famous Family [Video]

Jason Lee called out entrepreneur and publicist, Jonathan “FoodGod” Cheban for wanting to be his friend privately in order to keep his Kardashian connections intact.

During an Instagram Live session, Lee addressed Cheban while reading comments from fans. It appears FoodGod questioned Lee about why he hadn’t shared their photo together. Seizing the moment, Lee made a pointed remark about the Kardashian-Jenner associate.

“First of all, FoodGod, you’re afraid to go live with me and you’re asking why I won’t post a picture with you? I won’t post a picture with somebody who’s afraid to show the world publicly that they’re my friend,” he said.

FoodGod, a longtime ally of the Kardashian family, has appeared on multiple episodes of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” His close bond with Kim Kardashian even saw the two dressing up as Sonny and Cher for Halloween in October 2024. Lee suggested that this association influences FoodGod’s reluctance to publicly acknowledge their friendship.

“We’re gonna stop being friends with people in public who only wanna show you love in private. Because, Jonathan, he does show up for me, but he doesn’t show public love on social media probably because the Kardashians are following and they don’t like me, and that’s fine. Those are your friends, not mine,” Lee remarked.

Despite the tension, Lee acknowledged his respect for the Kardashian women and their accomplishments. However, he noted that FoodGod likely avoids posting about him to dodge repercussions and a possible “call from the boss.”
