Jay Electronica is at the center of a very high profile split across the pond.
The New Orleans rapper, best known to many as the father of Erykah Badu’s daughter, has been linked to Kate Rothschild, the 31 year old banking heiress who launched her own label, Roundtable Records. Kate is married to British financier Ben Goldsmith, brother of fellow heiress Jemima Khan.
According to UK press reports, Goldsmith grew suspicious after Kate kept raving about the rapper, then found messages between the two on her phone. The reports say the discovery led to a heated argument at their home, and that Goldsmith allegedly slapped her during the fight before leaving with their children.
None of the three has publicly confirmed an affair, and the reports are based on unnamed sources. What is clear is that the marriage appears to be over.
Jay Electronica has kept fans waiting years for his debut album. Now he has the British tabloids waiting on him too.
