Police say a 24 year old Bronx man walked into the 48th Precinct on Wednesday evening and told officers he had killed his 21 year old girlfriend.
According to the NY Daily News, the man, Angel, arrived around 6 p.m. and told officers he killed his girlfriend, Indira, two days earlier. Police said he handed over his keys and agreed to let officers search the Nelson Avenue apartment the couple shared. Officers reportedly found Indira’s body in the bedroom, and police said she appeared to have been strangled.
Friends and neighbors told the Daily News that police had visited the apartment several times before for domestic disputes. One of Indira’s friends, Andy, 18, told the paper she had recently decided to leave the relationship. “She wanted to go back to her apartment and pack her stuff and leave him,” Andy said. “I didn’t expect him to do anything like this.”
The Daily News also reported that the couple both worked at bars in the Bronx. Angel was taken into custody, and the investigation was ongoing. Baller Alert did not find a public statement from him, and any charges are allegations until they are proven in court.
