For TALES episode 2, the subject matter is shifted to jealous and envy. Inspired by the Meek Mill track “Cold Hearted,” Episode 2 tells the tale of how quickly jealousy and hate can bring you down.
Keith Powers plays a rapper named Gutta who was gunned down outside of a Los Angeles nightclub. MC Lyte plays the detective investigating his murder.
As we all know, there are three sides to a story and detectives have their work cut out for them if they’re going to be able to solve Gutta’s case.
At first, it’s suggested that Gutta and his best friend Tank (played by Christian Robinson) were at odds with Compton gang members and that the gang’s leader, Hazard (played by Maino), may have wanted to see them dead. Then it seemed possible that the Compton gang members weren’t the true culprits at all. Could someone close to Gutta have set him up? Was his baby mama in on it? The CEO of his record label? Who would want Gutta dead and what was the motive?
“Cold Blooded” lived up to its name as it proved that you truly can’t trust anyone. It served as a true mystery that took a hard and unbelievable turn at the end.
