Jeannie Mai is refuting Jeezy’s accusation of “gatekeeping” their daughter during their divorce, highlighting her commitment to ensuring the safety of their child.
According to Page Six, Mai “remains committed to facilitating and encouraging” the rapper’s involvement in their 1-year-old daughter’s life.
Mai asserts that she has been accommodating Jeezy’s requests for time with their daughter, providing all the dates he requested and granting an extended period over the Christmas holiday.
In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Jeannie Mai expressed her desire to “foster an open, supportive, and safe environment for both parents to actively participate” in Monaco’s life. This involves Jeezy ensuring proper storage of all firearms.
“It is essential to clarify that Ms. Jenkins’ insistence on reasonable safety measures being put in place, such as safely securing and locking away all firearms that have been unsecure in the past, as well as having familiarity and properly trained caregivers, is absolutely not gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize their daughter’s wellbeing,” the docs read.
“These requests are grounded in Ms. Jenkins’ genuine concern for the parties’ daughter’s safety and security, especially when under the care of others and traveling across the country, and are reasonable protective measures, not an attempt to restrict Mr. Jenkins’ access to their daughter.”
The filing comes nearly three weeks after Jeezy accused the former ‘The Real’ host of “gatekeeping” their daughter following their divorce.
