Jeezy Turns 47: The Atlanta Icon Continues to Put on for His City and Fans Worldwide

It’s a new day, different hustle for rapper Jeezy. The Atlanta native is launching his own sports company titled ‘Sports 99’, according to Yahoo Sports reporter Chris Payne.

‘Sports 99’ is a full-service sports management agency representing athletes and coaches in the United States and internationally. It will also start off by representing players in both the NBA and NFL.

The ‘Last Of A Dying Breed’ rapper took to Instagram to share excitement for his new business venture, saying in part that he wants to, “Help athletes accumulate real wealth and life skills needed to invest in their future. I’ve always been drawn to athlete culture and making music that motivates and inspires them and others.”

41-year-old Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, is the latest music mogul to branch out into the sports agent world, following in the footsteps of fellow rappers like Jay-Z, who launched Roc Nation Sports.

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports represents a number of NBA stars including Kyrie Irving, Danny Green, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Markelle Fultz and Caris LeVert, amongst others. On the football side, the company reps NFL stars include Leonard Fournette, Juju Smith-Schuster, Melvin Ingram and a plethora of others. Roc Nation Sports also represents athletes in other sports as well.

According to its website, #Sports99 will specialize in contract negotiations, career management, media relations, and marketing & endorsements.

The management team will reportedly include Jeezy as CEO, Dee Jackson as the director of basketball division and Christian Carter, an NFLPA certified contract advisor.
