In a recent candid interview released on YouTube, rapper Jeezy joined actress Nia Long for a deep and meaningful discussion. The two delved into a wide array of topics, including trauma, family, relationships, and the experience of betrayal.
During the sit-down, Jeezy also shed light on the surprising divorce filing from his wife, former ‘The Real’ co-host Jeannie Mai.
“I can tell you that this has not been an easy journey. I can tell you I’m saddened. I can tell you I’m disappointed. But again, God has put me on a different path, and that path is gonna entail for me to take care of myself, to love myself, and to be in the best situation. And I can thrive as someone who’s been through all the things that I’ve been through.”
Jeezy went on to share with Nia Long that he and Jeannie Mai had made a genuine effort to address their relationship issues by seeking therapy and trying to work through them. However, their collective efforts ultimately fell short, and things just didn’t work out.
Jeezy filed for divorce from Mai in Atlanta, Ga., on Sept. 14.
