Super producer Jermaine Dupri decided to do a little damage control and clarify his previous statements about ”strippers rappin.” In an interview with TMZ Live, Dupri recalled the comments he made last week and even offered an opportunity for an artist to jump on one of his beats.

“I think it’s something that has just been brewing before I was, you know, asked the question,” Dupri explained. “I wasn’t aware that it has been brewing.”

The So So Def founder also noted that Cardi B’s response to his claim further proved he only added fuel to the fire. He said, “Cardi started her message off by basically saying, ‘Now that Jermaine Dupri has said it, I’m gonna address it.’ That means to me, somebody else had already said it to her.”

Dupri stated that the “strippers rapping” comment wasn’t intended to be directed at every female rapper, but just the ones mentioned in the People TV interview: Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B. And he also insisted that his remarks weren’t a diss at any of the women named.

Addressing the sexist allegations, Dupri made it clear that that’s not the case with him. He stated, “I’m far from a sexist…let’s not do that. That’s terrible.” He then went on to share that he is releasing a new beat on his #Soundcloud that is up for grabs for any artist, specifically females. “I’m doing this just to push, to give these people this push that I feel like the women are saying they are not getting.”
