Jerry Jones Says He’s “So Proud” Of Dak Prescott For Speaking Out Against The NFL’s National Anthem Protests

Late last month, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott shared his opinion on the ongoing National Anthem controversy, and cosigned Jerry Jones’ team decision to stand for the anthem, “toe on the line.”

“So for me, I’m all about making a change,” he said at the time, “making a difference, and I think this whole kneeling and all that was all about just raising awareness. The fact that we’re still talking about social injustice years later, I think we’ve got to that point. I think we’ve proved and we know that there’s social injustice.”

“So I’m for taking a next step that whatever that step may be for action, and not just kneeling,” he continued. “I’ve always believed in standing up for what I believe in, and that’s what I’m going to continue to do.”

Days later, Prescott reaffirmed his disapproval of the silent protests during the National Anthem, despite the backlash, which, in turn, prompted a positive response from his team owner, Jones.

“I’m so proud of him,” Jones said of Prescott’s stance on the controversy. “Just proud of him the way he leads the team. For not letting it mess with their practice.”

However, despite Jones’ approval of his star quarterback, many are disappointed. In fact, fellow NFL baller Malcolm Jenkins called Jones “a bully” over his push to stand for the anthem, while Richard Sherman accused him of having “old plantation mentality.”

What are your thoughts? Is Jerry Jones digging Dak Prescott into a deeper hole?
