Cardi B is catching heat after previewing a new single on her social media, which made a spicy reference about being “trapped” with a baby.

In the viral snippet, Cardi raps, “A n***a can’t trap me, I won’t keep it.” Naturally, the bar sparked a wave of reactions, especially following her highly publicized relationship with Stefon Diggs, which led to the birth of her fourth child. Many Cardi fans and critics alike poked fun at Cardi for being a hypocrite, while others claimed a ghostwriter penned that line for her. Cardi fired back on Instagram Live, addressing the line head on. According to Belcalis, the line was less about keeping a pregnancy and more about moving on from a cheating man, despite a child being involved.“I know exactly how I felt when I said that s**t,” she explained. “You can have a baby with a n***a and sometimes n***as think that because you have a baby with them or you’re gonna keep a baby or you have a baby…that you won’t move the f**k on.”
“I’ll take my baby and get the fuck going on,” she added.
Of course, Cardi’s comments hit differently considering her own relationship history. Cardi shares three children with her estranged husband Offset: Kulture, Wave, and Blossom. She filed for divorce from the Migos rapper in July 2024 after years of an on and off relationship. Cardi later moved on with NFL star Stefon Diggs, with their romance becoming public in May 2025. The two welcomed a baby boy in November 2025, marking their first child together and Cardi’s fourth.
More recently, the Bronx star has sparked romance rumors with Nigerian soccer goalkeeper Maduka Okoye. Cardi and Okoye were spotted together during Paris Fashion Week in July 2026, where the athlete was seen helping her to her seat at a fashion show. The rumors gained even more traction after the two were later photographed having dinner with friends in Venice, Italy.
While Cardi has not directly confirmed her relationship with Maduka, she has confirmed that remaining single is not on her bingo card.
