Jim Jones is opening up about the mainstream success of his hit, “We Fly High (Ballin),” and just how much money he made and spent.

During a recent sit-down with Cam Capone News, Jones spoke on his 2006 megahit. The platinum-selling single was Jones’ “Michael Jackson hit,” as he calls it. However, the Harlem star said he spent the millions he made in a short amount of time.

“If I burnt through 20M’s, then you could imagine what the label made. Yeah. We got to spin [MC] Hammer numbers,” he revealed.

While Jones later revealed in the chat that he never received a check from his former label, Koch Records, aside from his advance, much of his earnings from “We Fly High (Ballin)” were made on the road. Unfortunately, Jones wasn’t the best at money management during that time.

“Between touring shows and everything, that s**t coming fast in all different directions. A few years of not being responsible, and that s**t gone,” he added.

While “We Fly High (Ballin)” is Jones’ most successful track to date, his other singles, “We Set the Trends” featuring Migos and “Pop Champagne,” have also received RIAA plaques. While he may have had some early money woes, Jones has had many victories in the years since, both in music and business.
