Jimmy Fallon responded to critics who have blasted him for having TikTok star Addison Rae on “The Tonight Show.”

“The Tonight Show” has faced intense scrutiny for failing to give credit to the Black creators responsible for the dances that Fallon and Rae performed during the March 26th episode. Many felt that the host should have given the original creators the same platform. In response to this, Fallon invited the Black dancers onto the show to speak about their viral moves and perform them.

“We recognize that the creators of those dances deserve to have their own spotlight,” Fallon said.

The host highlighted several Black creators, including Mya Nicole Johnson and Chris Cotter, who created “Up,” and Keara Wilson, who choreographed moves to “Savage.”

Rae also praised the dancers on her Instagram, writing, “So happy these creators were able to be highlighted,” she wrote. “I hope we can all dance soon. Show them, love!”
