Joe Budden Says He Hates The K-Pop Group BTS and Calls Them “Korean-SYNC”

Joe Budden has apologized to DJ Olivia Dope after she accused the rapper-turned-podcaster of sexual harassment during the filming of a podcast.

Dope unveiled the shocking accusations in a 25 minute Instagram video. In the clip, she explained that her departure from the “See, the Thing Is” podcast was in response to uncomfortable sexual comments made by Budden. Budden appeared on Episode 16 of “See, the Thing Is,” a female-led show on the Joe Budden Network. During that episode, he “continuously made sexual, suggestive remarks” to Dope, who stated that she was extremely uncomfortable but did not want to dampen the mood. The DJ and media personality said that the experience was both “traumatizing” and “embarrassing.” In her video, she highlighted several timestamps during the episode where Budden made inappropriate comments. At one point, Dope alleges that Budden suggested the two have sex and asked for an on-air hug, where he made sexually suggestive movements.

Budden responded to Dope’s claims on Tuesday, offering an apology for how he acted during the taping. The “Pump It Up” rapper explained that he didn’t handle the topics discussed with “the sensitivity they deserved.” He says that he now recognizes that his “words and power in that situation created an upsetting environment for Olivia.”

“I apologize sincerely to Olivia, her former co-hosts, our staff, and the public. In an effort to not further any trauma, the episode will be removed from all platforms.”

The 40-year-old says that he and his network fell short in supporting women’s rights and that he applauds Dope for speaking up about her experience.

Dope has not publicly responded to Budden’s apology.
