Despite his $200 million deal, Joe Rogan says he will quit the Spotify podcast if he has to “walk on eggshells.”

During Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience,’ MMA fighter Josh Barnett says he was hesitant to speak freely because of certain listeners. Barnett feels as though these listeners will dissect his statements and turn them into controversy. Rogan agreed with Barnett and added, “There’s more people pouring over it but it’s the same thing. I do it the same way.”

Rogan continued by saying he will step down from the podcast if it becomes “something different.”

“If I become something different because it grew bigger I will quit,” Rogan said. “If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore- where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s- f*ck that!”

In 2020, Rogan secured the $200 million deal with Spotify to create the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. Rogan’s show has been in the topic of many discussions for allowing guests to spread misinformation during the show. Rogan defended his guests calling them “high credentialed” people who attract roughly 11 million listeners each episode.

Earlier this year, Rogan received backlash for a viral video of him constantly saying the n-word on multiple occasions. The podcast host did apologize for the racially insensitive comments but felt as though the outrage was a “political hit job” against him.
