Phillip Wilburn, a Donald Trump impersonator, is suing rapper Joey Badass for pushing him off stage, resulting in several injuries.
Joey, whose real name is Jo-Vaughn Scott, has been vocal about bigotry in America, mass incarceration and his support for Colin Kaepernick. In a recent interview with CNN, Joey Badass says, “(Trump) revealed that (racism) is still alive and well — that there’s still bigots out there. He exposed the bigotry that still exists in this country even after a black president.”
Now, it appears that his dislike for Donald Trump could result in the rapper having to come out of pocket.
Phillip Wilburn says he was performing at an MTV Wonderland event in Los Angeles last September when Joey Badass shoved him from the back, causing him to fall off the stage. Wilburn says that the fall resulted in $1,000 worth of medical expenses so far, but it’s possible he may require surgery, which could cost up to $25,000. Aside from his medical expenses, Wilburn says he is likely to lose around $50,000 in lost wages due to his injuries. He’s now asking the Brooklyn rapper to pay up.
Wilburn is requesting more than $1.5 million in damages.
