Johnny Gill is standing by his friend Arsenio Hall. Gill spoke with HipHollywood about the controversy that began when Sinead O’Connor posted claims on Facebook after Prince’s death, alleging that Hall had been involved in supplying drugs to the late star. Hall has strongly denied the claims and filed a $5 million libel lawsuit against O’Connor.
Gill told HipHollywood that Hall is like a brother to him and that he will always have his back. He questioned why O’Connor was speaking up now if she believed what she was saying, and he sharply criticized her comments.
Gill also said he talks to Hall every day. According to Gill, people in the entertainment business get attacked from time to time, and he believes Hall is handling it the right way by letting his lawyers take care of it.
O’Connor has not responded to Gill’s comments in the reporting we have seen. The legal case is ongoing.
