JT & Lil Uzi Vert Reportedly Fought Over Lost Seat, Not Ice Spice

Instagram

JT is shutting down the rumor that her now infamous BET Awards fight with Lil Uzi Vert was due to Ice Spice.

By now, we’ve all witnessed the jaw-dropping video of the City Girl throwing her phone at Uzi during Sunday’s award ceremony. During the scrabble, JT can be heard calling the “20 Min” rapper a “f**k n***a” and a “goofy,” warning him not to play with her shortly after lunging her cell phone at him. Witnesses who recorded the footage can be heard saying that she went off on Uzi for allegedly flirting with rapper Ice Spice, who was seated next to the couple. Other clips after the fight show Spice attempting to speak with both of them, though it’s unknown how that conversation went. The exchange took place shortly after Uzi took the stage and rapped a line about the New York phenomenon, saying, “I got a nice wife/Wig came off twice/She got a little afro, she looks like Ice Spice.” When back in his seat, Uzi then snapped a selfie with Spice before things turned ugly. Despite the internet discussion, JT’s team says the argument between the two had nothing to do with Spice.

According to TMZ, the “Act Bad” star became upset when she lost her seat in the audience after there were some rearrangements. Sources told the publication that the cell phone tossing and claims of her boyfriend being a groupie had nothing to do with Spice, whom JT is said to be a huge supporter of.

Uzi and JT left the ceremony early, and neither has spoken out directly about the incident. Spice has also not addressed her involvement in the lover’s quarrel, though she did share that the award show was “Ghetto but fun.”
