Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, is making every effort to be present for their first child’s birth.
According to TMZ, a judge has modified KP’s pre-trial release conditions so that he can travel and be in the delivery room when Nicki goes into labor.
The married couple is awaiting the once-in-a-lifetime moment of their first child, and of course, the rapper’s husband wants him to be by her side. But his pending criminal case was in the way.
KP submitted legal documents obtained by the outlet asking that the judge change the terms of his pre-trial release conditions, which would allow him to travel with his wife periodically on business trips as her manager, as well as to be there for the birth of their child.
KP was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender when he first moved to California, he has since done so, but was restricted to traveling outside the state and had a curfew, which was why he needed the judge to tweak the terms, in case Nicki went into labor outside of his curfew hours.
Kenneth’s sex offender status is the result of a 1995 New York conviction for first-degree attempted rape. A judge recently gave him the right to surf the web.
Apparently, the U.S. attorney’s office nor the pre-trial services office were opposed to his request, which may be the reason the judge signed off on his request.
