People have been calling for Uncle Murda’s annual “Rap Up” all year in the hopes that it would take us out of this crazy year and usher in the next. Now, the official “Rap-Up 2020” is here.

Clocking in at almost 14 minutes, the track sees the usual rundown of social commentary on the most notable events that took place throughout the year, with some personal notes mixed in.

He opens the track reflecting on Kobe Bryant’s death and says God should have taken Lamar Odom or Delonte West instead.

He discusses the coronavirus pandemic, calling out Donald Trump for faking the virus and swears he won’t be receiving the vaccine.

Uncle Murda mourns Pop Smoke’s death, “The Good die young it really wasn’t his time/him being dead, Tekashi still living is a crime.”

He raps about Tory Lanez shooting Megan Thee Stallion, calling Lanez thirsty. He calls Meg a snitch but then gives her the ok for being a girl.

Uncle Murda labels Boosie Badazz “if doing too much was a person,” and calls him out for getting dissed by Mike Tyson. He brings up Boosie’s Dallas shooting and reflects on the fact that a bunch of rappers got shot this year but that Tekashi 6ix9ine hasn’t been touched.

He also reflects on the social justice issues of 2020, like the death of Breonna Taylor and how the cops that shot her were only charged with shooting a wall. He says at least the cops that killed George Floyd got arrested, even though they haven’t been convicted yet. And the world came together over the summer during the Black Lives Matter protests, demonstrating against police brutality and racism.

He got political, letting Joe Biden know we really voted for Kamala Harris, not him. Uncle Murda let Swizz Beats and Timbaland know that some of their VERZUZ battles were boring. He even brings up 2020’s new social media phenomenon, Clubhouse.

According to the song, Uncle Murda tried to rap for 20 minutes straight but got tired in the booth, and ends it by informing us that this rap up will be his last. Say it ain’t so Uncle Murda! We all look forward to his annual rundown of the year’s events.
