Kai Cenat is finally addressing the growing speculation that he and Gabrielle “Gigi” Alayah have found their way back to each other, but anyone waiting for a relationship announcement may be waiting a long time. The streamer made it clear that whatever is happening between him and his ex is not something he plans to fully explain online.

The Gigi reunion rumors intensified after viewers noticed renewed signs of support between the former couple. During a recent stream, Cenat acknowledged that Gigi still supports him while stressing that neither of them is officially in a relationship. “Gigi single, I’m single,” he said before drawing an even firmer boundary around what could happen next.
“Whatever we decide to do is up; it’s our business. It’s none of y’all’s business, bro,” Cenat told viewers. He also explained that his previous experience putting his relationship in front of the public taught him to keep certain parts of his personal life to himself.
That is an important distinction. Kai is not confirming that he and Gigi are officially back together. He also is not closing the door. Instead, his response leaves their current relationship intentionally undefined while making it clear that fans should not expect the same level of access they had before.
The comments arrived shortly after DJ Akademiks took a much stronger position on the Gigi reunion rumors. Akademiks said he believed Kai had gotten back with Gigi and argued that the streamer was never completely over the relationship in the first place.
Akademiks then shifted from predicting the reunion to giving Cenat advice. He told Kai that if he wants to be with Gigi, he should keep her away from his content and have her “play the background.” Akademiks framed the advice around his own experiences and encouraged Cenat to “learn from me,” arguing that Kai’s public content should remain centered on Kai.
For all of Akademiks’ colorful delivery, his advice actually overlaps with what Cenat is now saying himself. Both are pointing toward the same basic boundary: if Kai and Gigi decide to rebuild anything, they may be better off doing it without turning every development into livestream content.
That approach would be dramatically different from how their first relationship played out publicly. Cenat publicly confirmed his relationship with Gigi during his birthday livestream in December 2024 after months of speculation. The pair had met in Manhattan, and Cenat spoke at the time about how happy and focused the relationship made him feel.
By December 27, 2025, however, the relationship had unraveled in front of the same internet audience. Cenat announced that he was single and declared that he would never be in another relationship again. Gigi quickly disputed the narratives forming around the breakup, saying she was the person who ended the relationship and firmly denying allegations that she had cheated.
The breakup became even messier when unverified social media claims connected Gigi to NBA YoungBoy. She rejected those allegations, including telling Cenat publicly, “I’ve never cheated on him, and YOU know that.” No substantiated evidence established that she had been involved with NBA YoungBoy.
Akademiks also became part of that story after viral posts claimed he was the source of the NBA YoungBoy allegation. Akademiks denied originating the claim and said at the time that the viral post attaching his name to it was false.
The relationship had already attracted family drama before the breakup. In November 2025, WDKX reported that Gigi’s mother, Ashlee Monroe, publicly criticized Cenat while responding to comments her daughter had made about her childhood. Monroe alleged that Cenat had encouraged Gigi to create distance between herself and people close to her, including her mother. Those were Monroe’s allegations, not established facts.
The rumors also carry extra weight because January brought another round of public accusations. Gigi released a video titled “The Real” in which she again pushed back against cheating rumors and made allegations about problems within her relationship with Cenat. His assistant, Brianna Lewis, later responded with messages and a recording she said provided additional context. The competing claims turned what had already been a public breakup into an extended online dispute.
By February, Cenat appeared ready to stop litigating the relationship through social media. According to Baller Alert, he said rumors and speculation surrounding his former relationship had become difficult to navigate and told supporters that anything important would come directly from him. He also wished Gigi well and asked people to respect both sides.
Seven months later, that boundary appears to still be in place. The biggest update in the speculation is not that Kai Cenat confirmed they are back together. He did not. It is that after one of the messiest public chapters of his personal life, Kai is no longer promising the internet a front-row seat to whatever comes next.
