Former Vice President Kamala Harris is stepping back into the digital arena with a reworked online platform aimed squarely at younger voters.

On Thursday, Harris announced the relaunch of her KamalaHQ social media presence under a new name, simply “Headquarters,” describing it as a Gen Z-led progressive content hub focused on civic engagement and organizing. The project is being developed in partnership with People For the American Way, a long-standing progressive nonprofit. Harris will serve as the group’s chair emerita.
In a short video posted to Twitter, Harris explained the vision behind the rebrand. “I have good news,” Harris said. “So KamalaHQ is turning into Headquarters, and it’s where you can go online to get basically the latest of what’s going on, and also to meet and revisit with some of our great, courageous leaders, be they elected leaders, community leaders, civic leaders, faith leaders, young leaders.”
She added, “I’m really excited about it. So stay engaged, and I’ll see you out there.”
The move follows Harris’ 2024 presidential run and a nationwide tour last year promoting her memoir, “107 Days.” During that period, she suggested her public service career was far from over. The book drew mixed reactions inside Democratic circles, including criticism from former Obama adviser David Axelrod, who said, “If there’s a political strategy here, it’s a bad one.”
Although Harris has kept a lower profile since the election, she has continued to speak out on national issues. Most recently, she condemned the arrest of former CNN host Don Lemon and journalist Georgia Fort, blaming Donald Trump and his administration.
“Today, Donald Trump and his administration are once again trampling on our rights and our freedoms,” Harris wrote. “Journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort were fulfilling their duty to the American people to report and inform, and they have been arrested for it.”
She continued, “Donald Trump continues to consolidate power and show a flagrant disregard for the rule of law. This arrest is another affront to our rights and freedoms and should alarm and enrage us.”
People For the American Way said the Headquarters platform builds on KamalaHQ’s role during the 2024 campaign, when it helped push messaging like Project 2025 into a broader public view.
