On Sunday, Kanye West delivered his final Sunday Service sermon of the year at the Union Rescue Mission homeless shelter, where he spoke about the longevity of the Sunday Service, and also took a minute to defend rapper T.I. amid the recent scandal surrounding his comments pertaining to his daughter’s hymen.

During his sermon in the Skid Row neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles, the 42-year-old hip-hop turned Christian rapper addressed the controversy surrounding friend T.I. who made headlines when he revealed that he accompanied his daughter Deyjah Harris on annual visits to the gynecologist to ensure that she was still a virgin.

“Y’all know what I’m talking about – they tried to play T.I., but he’s talking about something that’s God approved,” West said.

Sunday served as the one-year anniversary of his weekly Sunday Service. Since its creation, West has taken the popular Christian event to an array of cities such as New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, Ohio, and Wyoming. The rapper attributed the changes he made in his life to the service.

“We had no idea that we were gonna be here on the 52nd week, but I promised, so today marks the one year of Sunday Service! This thing saved my life; this thing was an alternative to opioids; this thing was an alternative to pornography,” he said.

The Jesus Is King rapper also addressed the ongoing homeless crisis that has encased Skid Row for decades. West told the audience he was planning strategies to combat the growing epidemic. as Skid Row remains the epicenter of the issue in Los Angeles.

“I definitely saw a strong, compelling vision with the homeless problem … and I know that we can find a solution – a worldwide solution.” He assured.
