Ye, formerly Kanye West, doesn’t seem too phased by companies cutting ties with him following his controversial statements. In fact, the music and fashion mogul insists the day he was dropped by Balenciaga and the ‘Drink Champs’ interview was removed was “the happiest day” of his life.

The Yeezy creator recently sat down with MIT research scientist Lex Fridman where he explained, in his eyes, both the French fashion label and podcast proved that they “really wasn’t with him.”

“There was a day where I was headed to Nashville to meet with George Farmer, who is the CEO of Parler, the day when we made the announcement,” Ye said. “At that same day, Balenciaga was taking my imagery off of their site, and the Drink Champs [episode] was being taken down, and I said, ‘This is the happiest day of my life. I love cutting the grass low. People really wasn’t with you. They was part-time. People switch up when it’s wartime.’

He continued, “I rather have people who are really with me and not people who are trying to use me.”

Over the past few weeks, Ye has been causing uproar due to his controversial remarks on social media and media appearances about the Jewish community. Companies like JP Morgan Chase, Vogue, Balenciaga, Gap, and, as recently as Tuesday, Adidas have cut ties with the rapper.

Ye has not commented publicly about Adidas terminating their deal.
