Lamar Odom’s family and friends were reportedly worried this week after TMZ reported that the NBA star had been out of contact for about three days.
According to TMZ, Odom’s absence followed trouble at home with his wife, Khloe Kardashian. The outlet reported that she asked him to leave the house on Wednesday, and cited unnamed sources who said people close to him feared he was struggling with substance use. TMZ also reported that Odom spent about three weeks at a San Diego treatment facility a year earlier before leaving. Those claims come from sources, and Odom has not confirmed them.
Khloe pushed back on the chatter on social media, saying it was hard to listen to people talk about her family and that she is very protective of them.
Odom’s side told a different story. His agent, Jeff Schwartz, told ESPN’s Marc Stein that Lamar is not missing and that his wife knows exactly where he is. Schwartz added that playing in the NBA is still very much part of Lamar’s plans. He did not address the substance use reports. A rep also told TMZ that Odom was fine but did not say where he was.
Later in the week, video of Odom at a Taco Bell drive thru was reported, showing him ordering food and appearing to be doing fine.
