Love & Hip Hop Atlanta stars Benzino and Stevie J held the grand opening of their new restaurant and bar, Sleazy & Zino, on the night of February 5, and VH1 cameras were reportedly on hand. By the next day, word was spreading that things got heated. Here is what has been reported so far, and all of it should be treated as unconfirmed.
The account from Funky Dineva
Blogger Funky Dineva wrote that, according to several unnamed people she spoke with, a fight broke out during the party. She said details were sketchy, and she described it as chaotic. Her sources claimed an argument started between Benzino’s girlfriend, Thea, and some guests, and that later in the night Benzino and Karlie Redd had a small argument of their own. According to the account, Thea and Karlie then had words, a drink was thrown, and more people got pulled in. The blogger also claimed Benzino had security walk Karlie out of the venue, and that crew members were heard saying it was a wrap once the commotion ended.
None of this has been confirmed by the people involved, and Funky Dineva herself noted that parts of the story were still unclear.
Benzino responds
Benzino took to Twitter the next morning and asked what brawl, suggesting the reports were off. We did not see an official statement from VH1 about the night.
Benzino’s engagement news
Around the same time, screenshots circulated showing Benzino posting on Instagram that he is engaged. The posts also appeared to include remarks aimed at his ex, Karlie Redd. Karlie has not been confirmed as responding in any of the reports we reviewed.
