Florida State running back Karlos Williams is the subject of a Tallahassee Police Department investigation after a domestic battery complaint was received, according to reports at the time.
The investigation followed an Instagram post by Williams’ girlfriend, Miranda, who wrote, “Domestic violence is NEVER okay.” In the post she said she was ashamed to have stayed quiet before and wanted to speak up for other women. She said the incident happened two nights earlier. The post has since been deleted, and the allegations in it have not been proven.
Police received the complaint the day after the post appeared. Miranda’s attorney says she did not file it and did not speak with law enforcement. Investigators have not said who made the complaint. In Florida, domestic violence investigations can continue even when the person involved does not want to move forward.
FSU says it is aware of the investigation and has not removed Williams from the team. Williams’ attorney is reportedly pushing for the probe to end. No charges had been announced at the time of this report, and a public comment from Williams himself was not available.
We will keep you posted as more information comes out.
