Katherine Jackson, the mother of Michael Jackson, has asked a court for protection from her nephew by marriage, who also worked as her driver, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
In the filing, the 86 year old says her nephew, Trent, subjected her to years of emotional abuse and describes him as “an abusive con man.” She also alleges he used her credit cards for personal purchases and accessed her bank accounts without her permission. Those are claims made in her filing and have not been tested in court.
Jackson says she is currently visiting her daughter Janet Jackson in London and is afraid to go home while Trent is there. According to the documents, she tried to end his employment and asked him to leave her guest house, but he refused. She says the situation has left her in “a constant state of fear and confusion.”
A judge issued a temporary restraining order that directs Trent to move out of the property, turn over the keys and return passwords and combinations. A follow up court hearing is scheduled.
Trent had not publicly responded at the time of this report. We will update this story when he does.
