Comedian Katt Williams is facing allegations from five women in Atlanta, and he says the night did not go down the way they describe it.
According to a police report, as reported by TMZ, a woman named Salena and a group of friends spotted Williams near West Peachtree Street and 3rd Street in Midtown around 2:30 am on Sunday. Salena told police she asked him for a photo and he agreed. She says things changed when one of her friends started filming. According to the report, Salena claims Williams punched her, pointed a gun at the group and took their cellphones. The women, who were visiting Atlanta for the weekend, also said members of his entourage were involved.
Williams has a very different version of events. The comedian says the women kept filming and taking pictures of him without his permission, and that they became irate and snatched a chain from his neck, which is what set off the confrontation. He says his security stepped in, and that at one point one of the women yelled that she was going to her car to get something to pop somebody.
Police responded to the scene and briefly handcuffed Williams, but according to reports no arrests were made at that time. Williams has not been convicted of anything in connection with these claims, and the accounts from both sides have not been independently confirmed.
We will keep you posted if more details come out.
