Keisha Whitaker, the ex-wife of actor and director Forest Whitaker, has sadly passed away.
Reports spread on Thursday that the “Who Are You Wearing?” host had died though the circumstances of her death are unknown. However, she and Forest’s daughter, True, announced the news in a series of Instagram Story posts. The mother leaves behind three daughters and a son.
“Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond. The most beautiful woman in the world … thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams, and I’ll feel you in my heart,” True wrote in a tribute to her mother on Wednesday.
Keisha and Forest walked down the aisle in 1996. Over the years, she has launched several of her own projects, including the creation of a luxury cosmetics line known as Kissable Couture with makeup artist A.J. Crimson. However, it didn’t appear the line was still active at the time of her passing. Additionally, Keisha was an actress and producer as well, with credits in films such as “Kassim the Dream,” “Proud,” and “Ben Harper: With My Own Two Hands.”
Unfortunately, her marriage to Forest ended in 2018 when he filed for divorce after 22 years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The split was finalized in 2021, though neither has said much about what ultimately led to the demise of their relationship.
The “City Of Lives” star has not yet commented publicly about the passing of his ex-wife, who was just 51 at the time.
