Former Nickelodeon star Kel Mitchell is now telling us what landed him in the hospital: a bulging disc.
Mitchell went on Instagram to show his fans he’s much better now and why he ended up in the ER, revealing it all started on Tuesday.
“I figured I need to show my face,” Mitchell said. “I’m good, I’m here, I’m smiling, I’m with my family, I’m at home. On Tuesday, I was out shopping when suddenly the whole room started spinning. So, I was like, ‘I must be dehydrated, so I need to go get some water, some food.”
But then, he said his symptoms got more serious, like numbness in parts of his body, and at one point, he couldn’t lift his arm. That’s when he sought medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
“When I did that, the whole right side of my arm and my leg was numb. Followed by me not being able to swallow, and that’s when I panic,” Mitchell explained. “I drove myself to the hospital… When in ER, I failed the arm and leg test, so that was raising fears of something more serious. Because I could not move my right arm, my motor skills was not working. So, CT Scan, EKG, everything, they started doing on me, and that’s why I had to stay overnight.”
But luckily, it was just an old injury flaring up and causing a bulging disc along his spine to rub up against a nerve.
“What we feared wasn’t what it was. It was actually a bulging disc that I had from a prior injury that was pressing up against a nerve,” Kel explained. “Mimicking all those symptoms that I was going through.”
TMZ was the first to break the news that the actor was hospitalized.
The actor thanked his family, friends, and fans for showing concern for his well-being and told everyone to be on the lookout for Good Burger 2 content.
